MNS pitcher Riley Pint on Phillies' radar

When Riley Pint walked a batter in his first inning at Perfect Game's national showcase in June, there was a rumble of surprise among the hundreds of observing scouts.

In the buildup to this gathering of the nation's best high school players, the lanky Kansan had been portrayed as some sort of baseball ideal, one without pitching or personal flaws.

His pre-showcase scouting report from Perfect Game, a website that ranks baseball prospects, raved about a fastball that reached 96 m.p.h. and a breaking ball that was even more impressive.

"As good as the velocity is," wrote Jheremy Brown, "it's the knuckle-curve that separates him."

His high school coach spoke just as glowingly about Pint's other attributes.

Youth Performance Training

Goals - To get faster you have to get stronger. We will teach the kids how to move properly and efficiently so they can prevent movement imbalances and injury later in their career. Learning proper movement patterns early will give the athlete an advantage when they get to their elite and high school teams when they get older, no matter what the sport. Learning proper movement patterns such as the squat and lunge allows for better coordination, sense of body awareness, balance, strength and speed.

Macfarlane to enter Missouri Sports Hall of Fame

"It's really an honor to be inducted," Macfarlane said. "I know people say that, but when something comes out of the blue like that, you're genuinely shocked to a certain extent and asking yourself about the worthiness of your credentials. But the further away you get from the game, you tend to look back and say there were some things you try to stay humble with but, you know what, that wasn't too bad."

Collegiate Performance Training

Being a collegiate baseball/softball player home for the holidays can be hard. You have trained for 4 hard months, and now you have 4 weeks without a program, plan, or place to train.

Evaluating Players and Coaches
